Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar

- 1/2 teaspoon salt

- 2-3 tablespoons hot water
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Add the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract and mix until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined. Add the milk and mix until smooth.
- Using a small cookie scoop or a tablespoon, scoop the cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheets. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are just beginning to brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool completely.
- In a double boiler or a heat-proof bowl set over a pot of simmering water, melt the chocolate chips with the butter. Stir until smooth.
- Once the cookies are cool, spread the chocolate onto the flat side of each cookie. Let set until the chocolate has hardened.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and hot water until smooth. Spread the icing onto the chocolate side of each cookie. Let set until the icing has hardened.
