Let’s get started. ## Recipe and Instructions ### Ingredients - 2 cups all-purpose flour - 1 cup butter, melted - 1/2 cup sugar - 1/4 teaspoon salt - 12 ounces caramels - 1/4 cup heavy cream - 4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips - 2 tablespoons peanut butter (optional) ### Instructions #### Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan with cooking spray. #### Step 2: In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, butter, sugar, and salt until the mixture is crumbly. Press the mixture into the prepared baking pan. Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes, or until golden brown. #### Step 3: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the caramels with the heavy cream. Stir until smooth. #### Step 4: Spread the melted caramel mixture over the shortbread crust. Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the caramel. #### Step 5: In a small bowl, melt the peanut butter in the microwave at 30 second intervals until smooth.
