Jamies Award Winning Chili Recipe
A Delicious and Hearty Chili Perfect for Any Occasion
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 large onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes
- 1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 (15 ounce) can black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 cup beef broth
- Optional toppings: shredded cheese, diced onions, sour cream, diced avocados
Instructions:
- In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 3 minutes.
- Add the ground beef and cook until browned, about 5 minutes. Drain off any excess fat.
- Add the chili powder, cumin, oregano, paprika, cayenne pepper and salt. Stir to combine.
- Add the diced tomatoes, kidney beans, black beans, tomato sauce and beef broth. Stir to combine.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Serve with desired toppings.
