Jamies Award Winning Chili Recipe

A Delicious and Hearty Chili Perfect for Any Occasion

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 (15 ounce) can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • Optional toppings: shredded cheese, diced onions, sour cream, diced avocados

Instructions:

  1. In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 3 minutes.
  2. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, about 5 minutes. Drain off any excess fat.
  3. Add the chili powder, cumin, oregano, paprika, cayenne pepper and salt. Stir to combine.
  4. Add the diced tomatoes, kidney beans, black beans, tomato sauce and beef broth. Stir to combine.
  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Serve with desired toppings.
